ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Traffic Engineer in a 7 month contract based in Southern Sydney you will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of Traffic Engineering Services and Transport Planning. This position will advocate for improvements to the transport system on behalf of Council and the Community and act as a mentor to others within the Traffic and Transport team.

ABOUT THE POSITION.

DUTIES.
- Provide a high level of advice to contractors relating to traffic, transport and road safety matters
- Review contractors draft proposals and recommendations
- Undertake site inspections and investigation of traffic, transport and road safety issues
- Prepare design layouts for new traffic facilities including pedestrian and bicycle paths
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or relevant qualifications
- Prior project experience in active transport ie cycleways and shared path networks is preferred
- Local Government experience is highly desirable
- Excellent written and communication skills
