ABOUT THE POSITION.
We are seeking a motivated 12D / Civil Designer to join the company's Sydney-based team. In this role you will play a key part in producing subdivision and civil works designs, stormwater drainage plans, and construction-ready documentation for a variety of projects. You will work closely with engineers, project managers and stakeholders to ensure designs are accurate, compliant and practical.
DUTIES.
- Develop subdivision layout, civil works, earthworks, drainage and stormwater designs using 12D and civil design tools (e.g. Civil 3D)
- Translate hydraulic and flood-modelling outputs into practical drainage and stormwater design solutions
- Prepare detailed design drawings and documentation, earthworks plans, drainage layouts, services layout, construction detail, and pavement design
- Liaise with surveyors, clients, local authorities, contractors and internal project teams to coordinate design inputs and deliverables
- Review and validate design work for accuracy, compliance with standards, constructability and practicality
- Support senior staff with stormwater and flood analysis outputs, integrating modelling data into civil design packages
- Maintain compliance with relevant Australian and NSW standards, including drainage/flood management guidelines and local council requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Strong proficiency in 12D - essential
- Experience with civil design software such as Civil 3D (or similar)
- Demonstrated background in subdivision and civil works design, including stormwater drainage, earthworks and services layout
- Exposure to flood-risk and drainage requirements under Australian / NSW regulations
- Ability to interpret hydraulic and flood-modelling outputs and integrate them into drainage and civil designs
- Strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, construction-ready documentation
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients, council representatives, surveyors, contractors and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with initiative and a collaborative approach
