We have a number of opportunities across Sydney Local Councils. Options would be available on both a permanent arrangement or a temporary contract with options to go permanent. You will be based at Council's depot and on-site parking is available.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
Reporting to the Works Supervisor you will be undertaking both scheduled and reactive arboriculture maintenance across the Local Government Area. You will be expected to conduct both ground and above-ground pruning - hence, physical capabilities will be assessed with a medical check.
DUTIES.
- Pruning and removal of trees on ground and above-ground
- Using chippers, grinders, chainsaw, aerial tools & more for tree maintenance
- Drive and maintain Council vehicle and plant
- Recognise and report on potential tree hazards, and more
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Certificate III in Arboriculture or Horticulture mandatory or near completion
- Current MR Class Drivers Licence
- Traffic Controller accreditation
- Minimum qualification in chainsaw operation at level 1 and 2
- White Card
- Experience working in Local Council (desirable)
