Join a dynamic local council team as an Asset Inspector , where your work will directly impact the maintenance and improvement of vital community infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your technical and field skills in a supportive, flexible work environment. You'll be a key part of an experienced Asset Management Team, capturing and managing essential data to drive smart decision-making and public safety outcomes.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Conduct field inspections of council and utility/private assets to identify and document conditions and defects.
- Accurately capture and upload asset data using GPS-based and other data collection technologies.
- Maintain Council’s Asset Management databases and electronic records with a strong focus on data accuracy.
- Assist with condition assessments and the ongoing maintenance of the Asset Management System.
- Ensure appropriate setup and use of data collection devices.
- Promptly notify Maintenance Supervisors of urgent or high-risk asset issues.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Team Leader – Data Collection and GIS.
You are someone who thrives working outdoors and independently, with a sharp eye for detail and a genuine interest in infrastructure, technology, and safety. You’re flexible, tech-savvy, and eager to contribute to your local community.
Essential:
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Technical knowledge of data collection devices.
- Experience with GPS-based data acquisition technologies.
- Familiarity with spatial systems such as MapInfo or similar.
- Experience setting up and maintaining field data collection devices.
