Our Client based in the Eastern Suburbs, is looking for an experienced Building Compliance Officer to join the team. Reporting to the Compliance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in protecting the safety of the community, by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
This is an initial 3 month contract with potential for a further extension. You will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters. The role requires you to work both autonomously and collaboratively, utilising your strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
DUTIES.
- Conduct investigations on compliance issues including unauthorised land use and unauthorised building works
- Prepare investigation reports
- Issue notices and orders, penalty infringements
- Respond to customer requests/complaints in a timely and professional manner
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Qualification in Planning, Building Surveying, Environmental Health/Science or equivalent professional discipline
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and positive attitude
- Strong work ethic and capabilities to remain focused in a repetitive work environment
