ABOUT THE COMPANY.
This Local Council based in Inner Western Sydney is currently seeking a Building Surveyor to assist their team with the delivery of multiple projects. The role offers an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.
ABOUT THE ROLE.
The role will focus on the assessing, reviewing and processing applications in accordance with regulations and standards. Along with completing applications thoroughly and in a timely manner, providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders are key in order to build and maintain the quality standards that the council has set.
DUTIES.
- Assessing Building Information Certificate (BIC) Applications
- Assessing Road and Activity Applications, following section 68 of the Local Government Act
- Assessing Subdivision Certificates (SC)
- Providing expert advice on Development Applications and compliance matters
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- A1 accreditation under the NSW BPB Accreditation Scheme
- Strong knowledge of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia and other related legislation
- Qualifications in Building Surveying (or related)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
