ABOUT THE POSITION.
We are seeking a motivated Civil Stormwater Engineer to join their Sydney office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, including subdivisions, commercial developments, and infrastructure works, focusing on sustainable and compliant stormwater solutions.
DUTIES.
- Design and model stormwater systems, including water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), on-site detention (OSD) basin and bioretention systems
- Perform grading and earthworks modelling for development sites to ensure optimal land usability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Design pavement layouts and pavement thicknesses, including flexible and rigid pavement systems for roadways and car parks.
- Conduct flood studies and drainage assessments to support development applications and construction certificates
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, including stormwater management plans and flood modelling documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate stormwater solutions into overall development plans
- Ensure compliance with local council regulations, Australian standards, and environmental best practices
- Provide technical support during construction phases, including reviewing shop drawings and addressing site queries
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in stormwater modelling software (e.g., MUSIC, DRAINS, HECRAS, CIVIL 3D, 12D, TUFLOW)
- Strong understanding of Australian stormwater design standards and local council requirements
- Extensive and proven experience in flood modelling and preparation of flood studies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions
