ABOUT THE POSITION.
This 6-month contract as a City Events and Activation Support Officer plays a vital role in bringing the community together through vibrant, well-organised events. Working closely with the City Events and Activations Team, the position supports the planning and delivery of Council’s major events and initiatives, including the iconic Lakemba Nights during Ramadan.
DUTIES.
- Organise major community events such as Lakemba Nights, Australia Day, and Lunar New Year
- Coordinate logistics and stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery
- Manage vendors, stallholders, invoicing, and procurement
- Foster strong community and internal partnerships
- Support after-hours operations, ensuring smooth and successful events
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Experience in Local Government or the Public Sector is necessary
- Qualifications in Event or Marketing Management
- Class C Driver’s License, comfortable driving a van occasionally
- Flexibility to work after hours or weekends
