Our Client based in the Inner West of Sydney is looking for an experienced Development Compliance Officer to join their team. Reporting to the Compliance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in protecting the safety of the community, by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
This is an initial 3 month contract. You will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters. The role requires you to work both autonomously and collaboratively, utilising your strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
DUTIES.
- Conduct inspections on unauthorized land use, building works, and non-compliance with development consents
- Carry out appropriate enforcement action by way of education, fines, notices, orders and directions
- Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service to the public
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Qualification in Planning, Building Surveying, Environmental Health/Science or equivalent professional discipline
- Driver Licence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Only applicants with prior Local Council experience will be considered
