Ivory Group is looking for an experienced Building & Compliance Officer to join a team of professionals within a Local Council. Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in protecting the safety of the community, by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
This is an a 12 month contract during which you will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters.
DUTIES.
- Conduct investigations and site inspections to address compliance issues
- Undertake appropriate enforcement actions, including education, issuing fines, notices, orders, and directions
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally
- Prepare and participate in court prosecutions as required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Planning, Building Surveying, Environmental Health/Science, or a related professional discipline
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Recent experience in compliance investigations (preferred)
