ABOUT THE POSITION.
An opportunity is available for an Intermediate Contaminated Land Consultant to join the contaminated lands team. In this role, you will support and contribute to site investigation, assessment, and remediation projects while continuing to develop your technical, project management, and client-facing skills. You will work closely with senior consultants and project managers, gaining hands-on experience across both field and office-based activities.
DUTIES.
- Assist with preliminary and detailed site investigations, including soil, groundwater, soil vapour/gas, and surface water sampling
- Support the design and implementation of remediation strategies under senior guidance
- Collect, analyse, and interpret environmental data to contribute to conceptual site models
- Prepare technical reports, including site investigation findings, validation reports, and supporting documentation
- Assist with project coordination tasks such as scheduling fieldwork, managing subcontractors, and tracking budgets
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and laboratories under the guidance of senior team members
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Soil Science, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in environmental or contaminated land consulting
- Working knowledge of Australian contaminated land legislation and guidelines
- Practical field experience including drilling supervision, soil and groundwater sampling, and soil vapour investigations
- Developing technical writing skills with experience contributing to environmental reports
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites
