ABOUT THE POSITION.
An opportunity is available for an Intermediate Consultant to join the contaminated land team. In this role, you will support and help deliver site investigations and remediation projects, working alongside experienced project managers and technical leaders. You will gain exposure to both fieldwork and office-based technical tasks, assisting in project coordination, data interpretation and report preparation, while building your client-facing and project management capabilities.
DUTIES.
- Assist in planning and delivering preliminary and detailed site investigations (soil, groundwater, soil vapour and surface water)
- Support the development and implementation of remediation strategies and validation programs
- Prepare technical reports, including investigation findings, data interpretation and conceptual site models
- Coordinate fieldwork activities, including drilling supervision and subcontractor management
- Contribute to project scoping, budgeting and scheduling activities
- Liaise with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies under the guidance of senior staff
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and standards
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Degree qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Soil Science or a related discipline
- Several years’ experience in contaminated land consulting or brownfield site investigations
- Sound understanding of Australian contaminated land legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in field investigations including drilling supervision, soil and groundwater sampling
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Developing project coordination and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to site locations
