ABOUT THE POSITION
In this Estimator role, you will collaborate with the estimating and project teams to prepare precise tenders and cost estimates. You will be working closely with the design team and play a key part throughout the design and pre-construction stages You will gain hands-on experience in cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and budget forecasting, while developing the expertise needed to advance into a senior estimating position.
DUTIES
- Prepare tenders, take-offs, and cost estimates
- Review supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive proposals
- Working closely alongside the design team
- Work with senior estimators to develop budgets and cost breakdowns
- Coordinating the transition from preconstruction to construction
- Maintain accurate project cost records and assist in bid presentations
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure project success
- Previous exposure estimating custom residential projects is advantageous
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
- Trade background is preferable
