ABOUT THE COMPANY.  

Join a Local Government Council and be a part of a positive and collaborative team environment. Local Government offer flexible start and finish times, Work From Home days and 35 hours per week. You will be liaising with internal and external Stakeholders, undertaking flood studies and flood risk management plans in accordance to NSW Flood Policy.

ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Flood/Stormwater Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of flood studies, floodplain risk management studies and management of flood management and stormwater design projects, ensuring all deadlines are met. You will liaise with developers and provide advice on flood and stormwater related issues. 
This position provides a blend of technical challenge, professional growth, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and public safety.

DUTIES.
  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (e.g., TUFLOW) for flood studies and capital works
  • Provide expert advice on flood modelling methodologies and interpret results
  • Support Floodplain Risk Management Studies and Plans, including scenario testing
  • Undertake detailed stormwater, flood and water quality designs and reviews 
  • Manage consultants, ensuring projects meet deadline and adhere to budgets 
  • Provide flood and stormwater advice for properties and developments 
  • Prepare technical briefs in relation to projects in accordance with legislations    
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.  
  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering 
  • Extensive knowledge of GIS systems, with a good understanding of TUFLOW modelling
  • Exposure in stormwater and floodplain projects
  • High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
