ABOUT THE ROLE.
As Site Manager, you will oversee all on-site construction activities for commercial fit-out projects. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, trades, and contractors, ensuring the project is delivered to high standards of WHS compliance, quality, and time management. You will be supported by a well-structured team consisting of a Project Manager, Contracts Administrator, Foreman, and Leading Hand.
DUTIES.
- Manage all on-site construction activities from start to finish
- Ensure all works comply with WHS legislation, company policies, and quality standards
- Schedule and manage the construction program, including critical path planning and milestones
- Oversee, coordinate, and manage subcontractors and trades to ensure efficiency and quality
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and budget to the Project Manager
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, site diaries, and compliance records
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions for site personnel
- Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders on site
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site productivity
- Trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Commercial construction experience, preferably in fit-out projects
- Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors on site
- Strong track record of stability and reliability with previous employers
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to enforce compliance on site
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team
