ABOUT THE POSITION.
 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering geotechnical engineering expertise to a variety of projects, from site investigations to design and recommendations for foundation systems, earthworks, and soil-structure interaction. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. 
  

DUTIES.
  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis to determine ground conditions 
  • Perform geotechnical design calculations for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and other soil-structure interactions 
  • Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to clients, detailing findings and recommendations for foundation and ground improvement solutions 
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering teams to integrate geotechnical recommendations into overall project design 
  • Provide on-site support during construction, including monitoring ground conditions and offering technical advice to ensure that the work complies with design specifications 
  • Review and interpret site data, including soil profiles, groundwater conditions, and laboratory test results 
  • Assist with the preparation of project proposals and bids, ensuring that geotechnical solutions are technically sound and cost-effective 
  • Stay current on industry trends, geotechnical engineering innovations, and relevant legislation 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.  
  • A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field 
  • Extensive and proven experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, with exposure to Australian soil and foundation conditions 
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical design principles, including foundation engineering, slope stability, and soil mechanics 
  • Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, gINT, Slope/w, Slide or similar) for analysis and design purposes. 
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant geotechnical codes  
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
