ABOUT THE COMPANY.
Work for our Local Council based in Eastern Suburbs. You will supervise a team of 4; including 3 Finance Business Partners & 1 Finance Officer. Your team is responsible for the delivery of Council's budget, financial reporting, GST & FBT, fixed asset management and financial systems administration.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
An initial 6-12 month contract with opportunities for permanent employment. Reporting to the Executive Manager - Finance you will have 4 direct reports. Your role is to provide financial advice to all levels of management, including training of junior employees.
DUTIES.
- Establish and maintain effective financial management systems and controls
- Provide financial partnering services to Council departments with budget monitoring and analysis
- Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial management reporting complies with IP&R requirements
- Review trends in financial performance and other KPI's to drive operational improvement
- Coordinate and consolidate Council's annual budget and ten-year long-term financial plan
- Responsible for management of fixed assets, compliance of GST and FBT requirements and overall bank reconciliation processes
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Previous Local Council experience highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or relevant
- Post-tertiary professional qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent)
- Minimum five years' experience in similar role
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of financial professionals
BENEFITS & REMUNERATION.
- Negotiable based on experience - $75 - $90 p/h + Super
- Up to 2 days work from home
