A Sydney Local Council is looking for a friendly and motivated Parking Officer to help keep the community safe and accessible through parking enforcement and accurate record-keeping. You will report to the Coordinator and work as part of a small, supportive team of seven, where people enjoy working together and take pride in what they do.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a parking officer you will actively undertake the business functions associated with parking enforcement activities, record keeping, preparation of evidence, representing Council at legal proceedings and liaising with the community, team members and Council staff.
DUTIES.
- Enforce parking provisions within the Local Government Area
- Ensure vehicular turnover of parking spaces
- Provide excellent customer service to the public
- Report other non-related parking matters to Council
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- A Class C Driver's Licence is required
- Strong customer service experience
- Ability to learn and apply legislation as required
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
The ideal candidate is someone who possesses excellent customer service skills and a proven ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with the public, along with a strong passion for parking enforcement. They will demonstrate a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to building a long-term career in this industry.
In this role, you will work on a rotating roster (Monday to Saturday), with hours between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, supporting a healthy work–life balance.
