ABOUT THE COMPANY.

A Northern Sydney Local Council is looking for a Payroll Officer to assist with the day to day responsibilities of the payroll team requiring high level problem solving skills and exceptional communication skills. 


ABOUT THE POSITION.

Immediate start . An initial 12-month opportunity with strong likelihood of extension and transitioning into a more stable position. Reporting to the Payroll Coordinator you will be assisting in duties to coordinate and produce a timely and accurate payroll in addition to responding to complicated payroll enquiries.

You will commence your position being assigned payroll administration duties. Progressively with hands-on training, you will be assigned additional duties to further expand on your payroll processing skills within a Council environment.


DUTIES.
  • Process payroll functions (end-to-end) 
  • Process weekly payroll for permanent, temporary and casual staff
  • Calculations, taxation and reconciliations as required
  • Responding to complicated payroll enquiries from customers

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency using an advanced payroll system
  • Experienced and comfortable with manual processing
  • High level of attention to detail & simple problem solving skills
