ABOUT THE POSITION.
As Principal Civil Engineer, you will take a senior role within their civil team. You will lead the delivery of complex civil design and construction projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high technical standards, commercial viability and client satisfaction. You will also mentor and lead other engineers, contribute to business development initiatives, and help shape their engineering approach and culture.
DUTIES.
- Lead the technical design and delivery of major civil engineering from feasibility, approvals, detailed design, construction and hand‑over
- Provide technical leadership and oversight
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, commercial risk and contractual deliverables
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design partners, local authorities and contractors
- Mentor and guide junior to senior engineers and the design team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Contribute to business growth: support proposal preparation, identify opportunities, engage in market development and support the firm’s strategic objectives
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor (or higher) degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven extensive experience in civil stormwater / land development or a related discipline, with proven leadership in design consultancy or major project delivery.
- Demonstrated track record across the full project lifecycle: feasibility, design, approvals, construction and hand‑over
- Excellent technical knowledge of civil engineering design, including roads/highways, drainage, utilities, earthworks, pavement design, and relevant local standards
- Strong commercial awareness: budget and schedule control, risk management, client‑facing commercial engagements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive business development mindset
