ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Principal Environmental Consultant, you'll lead the delivery of complex contaminated land and environmental consulting projects from inception through to completion. You'll provide strategic technical advice, oversee project teams, manage key client relationships, and play an active role in business development. This role is ideal for a motivated environmental professional looking to combine technical expertise with leadership and commercial responsibilities in a supportive, collaborative environment.
DUTIES.
- Lead and manage contaminated land investigations, remediation projects, and environmental assessments
- Provide technical oversight and review of Phase 1, 2, 3 and 4 contaminated land assessments, Remediation Action Plans (RAPs), Validation Reports, and environmental due diligence reports
- Manage project budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and risk throughout project delivery
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior consultants, providing technical guidance and leadership
- Identify new business opportunities, prepare fee proposals, and contribute to business development initiatives
- Ensure projects comply with NSW environmental legislation, guidelines, and industry best practice
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience within environmental consulting, with a strong focus on contaminated land
- Demonstrated experience leading complex environmental projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of NSW contaminated land legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent report writing, technical review, and project management skills
- Proven ability to build lasting client relationships and contribute to business growth
- Strong commercial awareness and leadership capability
