ABOUT THE POSITION.
We're looking for an accomplished senior technical leader to drive excellence in a respectable geotechnical team. You’ll lead major projects, mentor emerging talent, and collaborate across disciplines to advance the company’s reputation for grounded, innovative engineering. You will ensure that the company remains a leader in geotechnical excellence across the region.
DUTIES.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of geotechnical engineering services, including site investigations, laboratory testing, analysis, and design
- Manage major and complex projects, ensuring client satisfaction and technical quality
- Oversee the production of advanced slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and excavation design analyses using software like PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and Rocscience
- Produce high‑quality technical reports, geotechnical risk assessments, specifications, and tenders
- Mentor and train junior staff, fostering professional growth and technical competence
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; contribute to business development and proposal efforts
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- Chartered/Registered: CPEng, RPEng (NSW), NER, DEP
- 12+ years’ geotechnical engineering experience in Australia
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis tools (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience)
- Oversee geotechnical modelling, field & lab testing, and construction-phase oversight
- Effective project management and client communication abilities
- Knowledge of ground improvement, retaining systems, and earthworks design
