ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Road Safety Officer you will develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate road safety strategies and programs, including pedestrian safety and safe bicycle usage, foster new partnerships and encourage wider community ownership and participate in road safety issues, provide safety audits, assessments, advice and information to work collaboratively with the traffic and transport team.

DUTIES.
  • Develop Road Safety Strategic Plan, Action Plan, Bicycle Plan, Pedestrian Access Mobility Plan and other initiatives 
  • Report and manage budget requirements between LGA Program Funding between Council and TfNSW
  • Collaborate with community and internal teams on safety issues
  • Provide advice to the Disability Action and Inclusion Committee 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.  
  • Degree in Traffic Engineering, Community Education, Behavioural Sciences, Education, Communication or relevant qualifications
  • Previous experience in Local Government is highly desirable
  • Confident communication skills to present to schools, committees and other forums
  • High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
