ABOUT THE POSITION.
An opportunity exists for a Senior 12d Designer to join the Sydney team. This is a technically diverse position suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects and contributing across multiple design disciplines, not just stormwater. You will play a key role in delivering civil design packages across subdivisions, commercial developments, and infrastructure works, while mentoring junior team members and liaising with stakeholders.
DUTIES.
- Deliver detailed civil designs using 12d, including roadworks, earthworks, and drainage
- Undertake stormwater design and modelling, including WSUD and OSD systems
- Prepare earthworks models, grading plans, and site layouts
- Design pavements for roads, accessways, and car parks (flexible and rigid)
- Support flood modelling and drainage assessments for approvals
- Produce high-quality documentation, drawings, and technical reports
- Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated outcomes
- Ensure designs comply with Australian standards and local authority requirements
- Provide support during construction, including design clarifications and revisions
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Proven experience as a Civil Designer with strong 12D expertise
- Background in land development projects within Australia
- Solid understanding of stormwater design, earthworks, and pavement design
- Experience working with relevant software (e.g. 12d, Civil 3D, DRAINS, MUSIC, TUFLOW or similar)
- Strong knowledge of local council standards and approval processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach
