ABOUT THE POSITION.
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Civil 3D Designer to join the Sydney team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled designer who enjoys technical ownership, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients while playing a key role in setting design standards and ensuring quality outcomes.
DUTIES.
- Produce and review detailed civil designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Lead the design and documentation of civil works including roads, drainage, earthworks, and utilities
- Develop and manage Civil 3D models, corridors, surfaces, and pipe networks
- Ensure designs comply with Australian standards, codes, and client requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafters
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and external stakeholders
- Assist with project planning, resourcing, and design reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement of CAD and design processes
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Extensive experience in civil design within Australia
- Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Strong experience in civil infrastructure and/or land development projects
- Solid understanding of Australian standards and local authority requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience mentoring or leading junior staff is highly regarded
