ABOUT THE POSITION.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer with strong project management capabilities to join a growing Sydney team. In this role, you will take ownership of stormwater and drainage projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle from initial design through to delivery, while leading teams and maintaining strong client relationships. This position is ideal for someone looking to combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership and project delivery responsibilities.
DUTIES.
- Lead the design and delivery of stormwater drainage, WSUD, and OSD systems
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, councils, and regulatory authorities
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff
- Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, models, and detailed designs
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and fee submissions
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven local experience in stormwater and drainage design within a consultancy environment
- Strong proficiency in industry software such as 12D, DRAINS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards, WSUD principles, and OSD requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills
- CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded
