ABOUT THE POSITION.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Civil Stormwater Engineer to join their growing Sydney-based team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced consultancy environment and is looking to step into a leadership position on stormwater and drainage projects of varying scales. You will work closely with project managers, design engineers, and clients to lead and deliver innovative stormwater management solutions across urban development, infrastructure, and local government sectors.
DUTIES.
- Lead the design and delivery of stormwater drainage systems, WSUD, and OSD projects.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
- Liaise with clients, councils, and regulatory authorities to ensure design compliance.
- Provide technical mentoring and support to junior engineers and designers.
- Prepare and review technical reports, modelling outputs, and detailed design documentation.
- Contribute to proposal writing, fee estimation, and business development activities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive and proven experience in stormwater and drainage engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in stormwater software (e.g., DRAINS, MUSIC, HECRAS, TUFLOW, Civil 3D)
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, WSUD principles, and OSD guidelines
- Demonstrated project management and team leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- CPEng or working towards chartered status is highly desirable.
