ABOUT THE POSITION.
An opportunity exists for a Senior Civil Stormwater Engineer to join a growing team in Sydney’s North Shore region. This role will see you leading the design and delivery of stormwater and drainage solutions across a variety of urban development projects. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers, you will take ownership of technical design, manage project deliverables, and provide mentorship to junior engineers while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
DUTIES.
- Lead the design and delivery of stormwater drainage, WSUD, and OSD systems
- Manage multiple projects and ensure deliverables meet time, budget, and quality expectations
- Liaise with councils, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure design compliance
- Prepare and review technical reports, hydraulic modelling, and detailed design documentation
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers
- Assist with project planning, fee proposals, and client engagement
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in stormwater and drainage design within a consultancy environment
- Strong capability using stormwater modelling software such as DRAINS, MUSIC, TUFLOW, HECRAS, 12D or Civil 3D
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards, WSUD principles, and OSD requirements
- Experience managing projects and coordinating with stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CPEng or working towards chartership will be highly regarded
