ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and delivery of stormwater and drainage solutions across a diverse portfolio of urban development and infrastructure projects. This role offers a balance of technical leadership, project management, and client engagement, making it ideal for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career while remaining involved in technically challenging work. You will collaborate closely with internal design teams, clients, councils, and regulatory authorities to deliver innovative and sustainable outcomes that exceed expectations.


DUTIES. 
  • Lead the design and delivery of stormwater drainage, flood mitigation, WSUD, and OSD solutions
  • Manage projects from concept design through to construction support and project completion
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for clients, councils, and stakeholders
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, design documentation, and modelling outputs
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and professional development
  • Assist with business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and client relationship management
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Extensive years of experience in stormwater, drainage, and civil design within an Australian consultancy environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of WSUD, OSD, flood modelling, stormwater management, and drainage design
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software including 12D, DRAINS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards, local authority requirements, and stormwater regulations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and report-writing skills
  • CPEng accreditation or progression towards Chartership highly regarded
