ABOUT THE POSITION.  

An opportunity exists for a Senior Civil / Stormwater Engineer to join the Sydney office and play a key technical and project leadership role.
You will take ownership of project delivery across stormwater, flood modelling and broader civil works, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining strong relationships with clients and councils. This position offers genuine autonomy, direct access to leadership and the ability to influence technical standards and project outcomes.


DUTIES.
  • Lead the design and modelling of stormwater systems, including OSD basins, WSUD treatments and bioretention systems
  • Manage and deliver detailed flood studies, hydraulic modelling and drainage assessments to support DAs and CCs
  • Oversee earthworks modelling and grading design to optimise site functionality and compliance
  • Design pavement solutions (flexible and rigid) for roads, subdivisions and commercial developments
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, stormwater management plans and flood modelling documentation
  • Coordinate with planners, structural engineers, surveyors and other stakeholders to deliver integrated development solutions
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, councils and approval authorities
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and review their work
  • Support construction phase services, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews and site inspections

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Significant experience in civil design within land development projects
  • Strong expertise in stormwater management, flood modelling and drainage design
  • Advanced proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MUSIC, DRAINS, HECRAS, TUFLOW, 12D, Civil 3D)
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian standards, council requirements and approval processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, timelines and client relationships
  • Strong report writing, technical review and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers will be highly regarded
