ABOUT THE POSITION.

We are seeking a senior‑level consultant to join their contaminated lands team and take ownership of complex site investigation, assessment and remediation projects. This role offers a mix of field‑work and office‑based technical lead responsibilities, working closely with clients, regulators and internal project teams to deliver robust and commercially‑aware contaminated site solutions.
  

DUTIES.
  • Lead and manage contaminated site investigations (preliminary & detailed), including soil, groundwater, soil gas / vapour and surface water assessments
  • Design and oversee remediation strategies, including RAPs (Remediation Action Plans), validation and closure reporting
  • Prepare high‑quality technical reports, interpret analytical data and develop conceptual site models
  • Develop scopes, cost estimates and project programmes; monitor budgets, resource allocation and deliverables to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients, regulators and other stakeholders to build strong relationships, provide technical advice and contribute to business development opportunities.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, providing technical guidance, supervision of field teams/sub‑contractors and aiding in their professional growth.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with health, safety and environmental best‑practice standards and regulatory requirements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Soil Science or a related discipline
  • Proven extensive consulting experience in contaminated lands / brownfields investigations and remediation
  • Demonstrated experience with Australian contaminated‐site legislation and frameworks
  • Strong field work experience (site investigation design, drilling supervision, groundwater/soil vapour sampling)
  • Excellent technical writing and report‑preparation skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Proven project management ability: managing scope, budget, timeline, and resources
  • Strong interpersonal, client‑facing and stakeholder‑engagement skills
  • Driver’s licence and willingness to travel to site locations required
