ABOUT THE POSITION.

An opportunity is available for a Senior Environmental Engineer / Consultant to join a high-performing contaminated land team. In this position, you will take the lead on site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation programs, balancing field involvement with technical leadership and client engagement. You will play a key role in delivering projects end-to-end while guiding junior team members and contributing to broader business growth.
  

DUTIES.
  • Manage and deliver contaminated land investigations, including preliminary and detailed site assessments
  • Plan and supervise field programs covering soil, groundwater, vapour, and surface water sampling
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies, including preparation of RAPs, validation reporting, and site closure documentation
  • Interpret environmental data and develop conceptual site models to inform decision-making
  • Oversee project scope, budgets, timelines, and resourcing to ensure successful delivery
  • Maintain strong client and regulator relationships while providing clear technical advice
  • Support business development through proposals, client engagement, and repeat work opportunities
  • Mentor junior staff and oversee subcontractors and field teams
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, standards, and safety practices
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or similar
  • Significant consulting experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation
  • Strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks for contaminated sites
  • Hands-on experience in field investigations, including drilling programs and environmental sampling
  • Advanced technical reporting and data interpretation skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience across scope, cost, and programme delivery
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to attend site as required
