ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will take a leadership role in delivering geotechnical services from investigation through to design and construction support. You will manage projects, provide technical oversight, and contribute to strategic decision-making while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
DUTIES.
- Lead and oversee geotechnical investigations, including planning, execution, and interpretation of site data
- Deliver advanced geotechnical design solutions for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and ground improvement
- Review and approve technical reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and quality
- Act as a key client interface, presenting findings and providing trusted technical advice
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical inputs into broader project outcomes
- Provide senior-level construction support, including site inspections and technical guidance
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical development within the team
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives
- Stay at the forefront of industry developments, standards, and best practices
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Significant experience in geotechnical engineering, with strong exposure to Australian ground conditions
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
- Advanced knowledge of geotechnical design principles, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering
- Proficiency with industry software such as PLAXIS, gINT, Slope/W, Slide, or similar
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and relevant codes
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
