Canterbury-Bankstown Council has recently opened an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Planner to join their team, early September start. The successful candidate will work within a high performing and collaborative team to communicate and promote relevant planning policies.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
In this role, you will report to the Coordinator Strategic Assessments, with a primary focus on preparing planning proposals for major precincts and engaging with key stakeholders to help shape a vibrant, attractive, and liveable city that the community values and enjoys.
DUTIES.
- Lead the assessment of major development, planning proposals, and State Significant Development proposals
- Contribute to and update planning and design policy
- Reviewing and updating Council’s planning framework
- Prepare reports, provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate input from specialist consultants
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Degree in Urban/Town Planning or related
- Experience in preparing and negotiating planning agreements
- Experience in Town Planning specifically preparing and assessing planning proposals
- Experience in preparation of development control plans
- Competent in preparing and giving presentations to internal and external stakeholders, taking meeting minutes and other administrative tasks expected from the role
