ABOUT THE COMPANY.

Join a growing local council as a Site Inspector within their Works and Infrastructure Growth Program (WSIGP). This council offers 35 hours per week, on-site and out in the field, with the stability of a structured contract role and a clear reporting line into the Project Manager, WSIGP Streetscape.

ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Site Inspector, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of Council contractors and service providers, ensuring all work is delivered in line with contract specifications and WH&S obligations. This is a night-works role — shifts run 9pm to 4am, Sunday to Thursday — with the Site Inspector required on-site for the full duration of works.

DUTIES.
  • Monitor construction activities on-site, maintaining accurate records, photographic documentation and daily progress reports to the Project Manager
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with contract specifications and the NSW WHS Act and Regulation, with authority to stop non-compliant works
  • Investigate customer requests and provide technical advice on capital or rehabilitation projects, particularly roads and drainage
  • Verify materials, quantities and workmanship, and check traffic control plans and road occupancy licences against Transport for NSW guidelines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction, or relevant qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience in civil construction, including roads and drainage systems
  • Experience monitoring contractors on infrastructure projects and interpreting design drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable working solo overnight, holding contractors to account, with solid report-writing skills
CULTURE.

Step into a connected WSIGP team with a clear mandate: keep contractors accountable, keep the community informed, and keep projects moving safely. You'll work closely with the Project Manager and wider Streetscape team, with direct lines into Infrastructure Planning when bigger issues need escalating.

BENEFITS.
  • On-site Parking and 5 minute walk from Train Station
  • Weekend penalty rates
  • Competitive hourly rates
