ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a Traffic Officer / Permits Officer to join a high-performing team on a 6-month contract. This role has a strong administrative and operational focus, supporting the day-to-day management of traffic-related permits while also contributing technical traffic engineering expertise.
You will play a key role in reviewing and issuing construction-related permits, assessing Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs), responding to customer and builder enquiries, and ensuring compliance with council and legislative requirements. When the dedicated Permits Officer is on leave, you will take ownership of the permits function to ensure continuity of service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and process construction zone permits and related traffic permits
- Assess and approve Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs)
- Respond to customer, contractor, and builder requests, including urgent next-day permit applications
- Issue invoices and manage permit-related administrative tasks
- Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on traffic, transport, and parking matters
- Undertake site inspections and investigations into traffic and road safety concerns
- Support traffic engineering functions including Development Application referrals where required
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Drivers Licence
