ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Transport Engineer, you will be responsible for maximising safety, efficient and reliable movement, access and amenity of all road transport on Council's road and pathway networks, contribute to the management of road safety, traffic and active transport projects, undertake transport, parking and traffic studies to link strategies, project proposals, analysis and business cases.

DUTIES.
  • Prepare traffic reports for the Traffic Committee and undertake investigations
  • Engage external consultants by preparing briefs, quotes, and tenders
  • Provide technical advice and assistance in traffic engineering, planning, safety programs and development applications
  • Deliver projects for Councils traffic management and road safety program
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.  
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or relevant qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Traffic Engineer
  • Knowledge of transport design
  • High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
