ABOUT THE POSITION.
 
A Plant/Motor Mechanic is required to carry out the repair and maintenance of the Council’s mechanical plant and vehicle fleet at the Rooty Hill Workshops.  The successful applicant will be able to collaborate effectivley and work atonomously on a rotating weekly roster.
 
DUTIES.
  • Carry out services and repairs to all Council owned vehicles and plant in a tradesman like manner
  • To machine up pins and bushes etc. and manufacture parts which are difficult to obtain for Council plant and equipment
  • Knowledge of Council’s vehicles and plant
  • Strategic and personable stakeholder engagement internally & externally
  • Implement, monitor and, or comply with councils WHS Management System, including but not limited to WHS Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments/Work Instructions and associated system tools in their relevant work area

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
  • Heavy Plant – Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Authority (MVRIA) licence
  • Post trade qualifications and experience in this specialised trade including heavy vehicle RMS Pink Slip Accreditation, fitting / turning and knowledge of pumps
  • Minimum class HR driver licence
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment
