My Council Client is going through a major trans formation period and a newly created team is being established. Support the Manager to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the strategic policy directions to deliver City Strategy. Manage the provision of high level strategic support, research, advice and information to inform and promote Council’s policies, programs and services.


Develop and maintain long term collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including senior government officials, heads of departments and senior members of industry as required. Foster partnerships with key stakeholders in all levels of government and business. Collaboratively working with stakeholders to deliver the identified City Deal projects, meetings and events on behalf of the Manager City Strategy or other Council Managers and executives Engage with all stakeholders to strengthen community engagement across strategic policy.


  • Ability to gain the confidence and respect of council, state and federal government officials, external bodies and staff at all levels
  • Establish, Develop and Maintain Collaborative Stakeholder Relationships
  • Coordinate City Deal Initiatives
  • Strategic Policy Development- In depth understanding of the macro issues confronting high growth outer metropolitan areas and the necessary responses
  • Extensive local knowledge and the ability to interpret the knowledge into strategies and strategic approaches


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.                                                                                                                      

  • Demonstrated experiences in integrating strategic information and projects with organisational activities to ensure solutions for community issues and needs
  • Tertiary qualification in Policy Development, Planning, Economics
  • Extensive local knowledge and the ability to interpret the knowledge into strategies and strategic approaches
  • Using the Places of Penrith or equivalent strategic framework, develop policy statements that include key messages that enable Council to communicate its strategic policy directions in an effective manner.
