ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in overseeing the health and safety of all employees and contractors on-site. Working across subdivision and earthworks projects, you will ensure that all safety protocols are followed, conduct audits, and implement improvements where necessary. Your role is vital to maintaining compliance and creating a safe working environment.
DUTIES.
- Ensure the implementation and enforcement of safety procedures on subdivision and earthworks projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training and inductions to staff and contractors, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to monitor safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Proven experience in a safety role within the civil construction sector, with experience in subdivisions and earthworks being highly advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor site teams.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) preferred.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.
